Organisation: Continental Forests Continental Forests is a Management Contractor for global-woods AG licenced by the government of Uganda to establish and manage a large-scale commercial forest on over 12,000 hectares in Kikonda Central Forest Reserve in Nsambya Sub-county Kyankwanzi district. Job Summary: The Animal Husbandry Officer will technically support cattle keepers in the neighbouring Communities to adopt sustainable and modern land-efficient livestock production and management approaches Key Duties and Responsibilities:  Mobilise, train, and support cattle keepers on improved and sustainable livestock production Train farmers in modern farming management practices including breeding, feeding and health improvement strategies.Organising periodic visits visits to farmers in the communities around the forest plantation to monitor implementation of agreed upon strategiesCompiles, prepares and submits periodic technical reports to the CompanyManagement for necessary advice on appropriate intervention and improvement in strategies. Qualifications, Skills and Experience:The applicant should hold a good diploma in animal science/husbandry from a recognized institution. At least three years’ relevant experience on in related activity.
