Montrose Job Vacancies - Programme Director – Africa (Eastern and Southern Africa)


Montrose is an international development project management and consultancy company providing support to clients operating in the developing world. Specialized in the sectors of health, education, rural livelihoods and private sector development, our clients include bilateral and multilateral development agencies, the private sector, Non-Governmental Organizations and other development stakeholders.Key Duties and Responsibilities:  1. Project Management Oversight: responsible for the management of contracts being implemented in the region, including providing troubleshooting support and inputs on strategic direction, managing project manager, review of project outputs.2. Project Management: The PD-Africa will also be expected to manage projects being implemented in the region.3. Operational Management for Kampala Office: administration oversight for Kampala office, financial management and oversight and human resources management.4. Business Development: identify opportunities with existing or potential clients and partners in the region, provide input into bids and upcoming initiatives.5. Company Representation: establish and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients within the region, representation of Montrose at events.6. Technical Oversight and Inputs: provide technical oversight for areas of expertise, supporting technical experts, reviewing quality assurance technical reports.Qualifications, Skills and Experience:  The ideal candidate should possess a Master’s degree in a relevant fieldAt least five years’ relevant work experiencePast experience in international postings, preferably in multiple countries in AfricaExcellent written and oral communication skillsExcellent organisational skillsProven personal initiative and supervisory skillsSome management experience will be highly preferredDetailed knowledge and understanding of development agencies is desirablePast private sector experience is desirableProven networking and representational skills with potential clients (development agencies and private sector)Technical knowledge of a relevant field (health, education, livelihoods) desirableFluency in English is essentialFluency in a second language (French or Spanish/Portuguese) an assetMust have willingness and ability to travel in the regionAll suitable candidates who fully meet the above requirements should send a detailed CV together with a covering letter explaining how you are suited for the position.
