Project Name: Growth, Health and Governance (GHG) ProgramMercy Corps is an international non-profit organization which implements high-quality, analytical development work in very difficult places. We have been operating in Uganda since 2006 and currently implement development programs in the Acholi and Karamoja sub-regions of Uganda with funding from USAID, EC, SDC, and USDA. The project, called the Northern Karamoja Growth, Health and Governance (GHG) program, aims to support the immediate needs of program beneficiaries while promoting long-term development by spurring systemic improvements in key economic sectors of northern Karamoja. Job Summary: The Mercy Corps Senior Engineering Officer is responsible for supporting the implementation and supervision of all Engineering related activities mainly Health infrastructures and road construction. These activities will be implemented through contractors and the Senior Engineering Officer in collaboration with District Engineer will oversee the contractors and ensure quality deliverables of the same. The Engineering Officers will work closely with GHG Team Leader(s) and officers to better coordinate and implement activities in a timely manner. S/he will also expect to establish/strengthen good working relationships with all GHG partners. Minor installation decisions may be made if incumbent determines more efficient service could be provided. Maintains certain job worksheets detailing nature of assignment, parts utilized, time expended and type of work performed.§ Must collect data for reports.§ Ensure error free information.
