Logistics Supervisor ( FULL TIME )

About this Job:

Job Title:  Logistics Supervisor

Reports To: Logistics Manager

To support the Logistics Manager with close supervision and coordination of and all in country road transport operations, ensuring safe and efficient passage of Tullow Operations bound goods and services.

Main Accountabilities:

Provide best time delivery of materials and equipment from Kampala to site from all suppliers.Co-ordinate with all departments in Field/ Seismic/ Drilling/ Operations/Materials/Freight Forwarding & Third Party Service Contractors for all rig moves and for all field transport support.Lead, motivate and manage the transport team to develop and deliver transport strategies that support achievement of all Logistics unit objectives.Proactively advise logistics teams on transport requirements for specific projects; providing practical and creative solutions for road transport delivery and ensuring value for moneyResponsible for sourcing external transport and lifting services suppliers (land transport, freight deliveries etc) and instituting contract management and administration frameworks for all transport contracts.Proactively manage and coordinate town fleet vehicles, drivers and manage fuel usage.Manage fleet coordination and road safety personnel.Draw scope of works for transport requirements for all projects including coordinating road surveys and scoping all freight technical specifications for transport.Provide contracts administration in respect to contractor performance, monthly payments and the like.Requirement:

Qualifications:

Degree or Diploma in Business Studies, Logistics and Supply Chain Management or EngineeringPostgraduate qualifications in road transport management.

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years’ Experience in Transport, Logistics and Warehousing.

Knowledge and Skills: Essential:

Experience in remote site logistics managementStrong knowledge and experience of managing Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) aspects of logisticsCoaching and mentoring skills.High level of competency in Microsoft Word and Excel.Advanced numeracy skills.

Preferred:

Prior experience of working in a busy logistics operation.Working experience within an International oil exploration and production industry.Strong working knowledge of regional East African logistics.How to apply:
