Senior Accountant Position (1 position)
Job Purpose:
This is a senior position in the finance department responsible for accounts management and administration of the accounting office. He /She will be in charge of the correct preparation, efficient and proper maintenance of company accounts and statistical ancillary accounting records. The senior accountant will report to the commercial Manager.
Tasks:
To supervise and ensure timely delivery of outputs from subordinatesEnsure accurate stock costing, stock control, work in progress control and reconciliations.Ensure effective banking operations and reconciliationsCarry out on-the-job training of subordinatesEnsure clean audit report for the Uganda Business Unit.Timely preparation of Monthly, Quarterly and Year-end reports.Maintenance of the Fixed Assets Register.Reviewing of General Ledger Reconciliations.Ensure day-to-day administration and running of Accounts Offices.Work closely with the Commercial Manager to advice on staff training and development requirements.Ensure that all company insurance matters are covered at all timesEnsure that taxes are paid on time and that the company is compliantInculcate commercial awareness amongst operational management through on-going contact and formal sessions.Requirement:Qualifications/ experience and competencies
