The organization serves the Church worldwide to promote the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.Key Duties and Responsibilities: · Write concept papers, proposals, and project in support of the Country Director/Deputy Country Director.· Work closely with and engage the SP Technical Team in program and proposal development.· Actively monitor and be aware of upcoming agency “calls for proposals” and proactively inform the Program Development Officer and other selected colleagues of upcoming opportunities.· Review and copy-edit project reports.· Train and support Program Managers with proposal development and report writing.· Keep the CD/DCD informed of project status, information, needs, and concerns. Provide and maintain a monthly project tracking and status report on all assigned programs, projects, and initiatives.· Provide advice and expertise to best practices of gender equality aspects into SP programs and projects.· Build capacity of SP staff on gender equality.· Develop gender project resources for implementation.· Provide professional representation of SP at meetings with government, community members and civil society partners for collaborative programming and/or gender related topics.· Actively participate in problem solving and come up with creative approaches for gender related programming.· Visit SP projects in Uganda in order to more effectively understand and communicate SP programs/projects to donor agencies.· Provide project oversight into gender programs or projects as applicable.Qualifications, Skills and Experience: · The Program Development and Gender Equality Advisor should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Social Science, Gender Study, Sociology or related fields. Possession of a Master’s degree is preferable.· Possess skills of managing or working on gender/GBV programs.· S/he should be able to analyze documents, develop training/instruction resources and facilitate trainings.· S/he should have sound and up to date knowledge of development concepts, methodologies and techniques, including participatory methodologies and gender approaches.· S/he should have strong writing and presentation skills in English and the ability to write concept notes and full proposals, and produce good quality reports.· S/he will be based in Kampala with a need to travel to the field (approx. 20-30%).· All applicants must be strong Christians and agree with and uphold the values and objectives of the organization to be considered for this position.?All suitably qualified candidates should send their applications by clicking on this link.Please upload the following in your application; an updated CV / resume should include your contact information and three work related references and a one page statement describing your suitability for the role should be included.
