Chemonics seeks a chief of party for the anticipated USAID-funded Youth Leadership for Agriculture project in Uganda. The five-year, $21-million project aims to increase incomes of youth working in agricultural commodities and strengthen the skills obtained through formal and nonformal education and training in 38 of Uganda's Feed the Future focus districts. The chief of party will provide overall leadership on the project's management, operations, and performance, including achievement of programmatic results and timely completion of deliverables. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.

Responsibilities include:

Provide overall management and leadership of technical, administrative, operational, and logistical direction of the projectServe as primary liaison with USAID on management and technical workFoster and maintain collaborative relationships with Ugandan government officials and senior-level national and county-level government officialsLead coordination with USAID, key stakeholders, and other implementing partnersManage and supervise the work of project personnel and subcontractors

Qualifications:

Master's degree in economics, business, international development, public policy, education, agricultural economics, or related field; or bachelor's degree in a related field with 15 years of relevant experienceMinimum 10 years of progressively responsible experience leading and managing an agriculture, private enterprise development, or youth development program of similar scope and scale, in Uganda or a similar development contextDemonstrated ability to successfully lead and manage challenging projects involving effective collaboration with public and private sector counterparts and key stakeholdersKnowledge of and experience working in Uganda strongly preferredChief of party experience on a USAID project preferredFamiliarity with youth and gender program design and implementation preferredDemonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrityWritten and spoken fluency in English requiredHow to apply:
