Organization: Economic Policy Research Centre (EPRC)The Economic Policy Research Centre (EPRC) is Uganda’s leading economics research institution. Its mandate is to provide research and other forms of analytical support to Uganda’s development process. EPRC uses resources from Government of Uganda and Think Tank Initiative (TTI) under the International Development Research Centre (IDRC). Key Duties and Responsibilities:  Carry out empirical analysis on Sectoral issuesActively engage in commissioned work for and on behalf of the CentreBased on research findings and sound analysis, contribute to national policy discourseQualifications, Skills and Experience:  The candidate should hold a Master’s degree by coursework & research in Economics, Agricultural Economics or Statistics from a recognised University. Recent graduates of doctoral degrees in (a) shall be added advantageAt least six years working experience in relevant public or private sector institutions three of which should be in policy-oriented work Proven ability to use STATA, EViews, GAMS or GAUSS for data analysisThe applicant should be abreast with current global and national economic issuesComprehensive working knowledge of, and ability to apply modern economic theory and methodsPossess excellent analytical skillsProven high level writing skills as primary author in published research papers, review etc.Past exposure and experience working with large household survey data sets  High-level interpersonal skills and good communication skillsSelf-motivation and capability to work under tight deadlines in a competitive environmentEvidence of publication of own written articles in either local or international journalsHigh degree of integrityAll candidates should send their applications, including detailed curriculum vitae; names and addresses of three (3) referees (at least one of whom must be a current/ former employer), and photocopies of credentials should be sent to the address below.
