Organisation: Global Health Uganda (GHU)Global Health Uganda (GHU) is a registered not for profit, limited liability company involved in facilitating collaborative research especially in the area of brain injury and neuro-development. The organization subcontracts and manages research grants.Job Summary: The Laboratory Technician will be responsible for the day to day clinical laboratory aspects of the study.Key Duties and Responsibilities:  Receive blood packs from Blood Transfusion ServicesPerform blood grouping and cross match and issue appropriate blood transfusion packs to patients.Ensure proper processing, storage and shipment of samples for patients.Maintain correct and proper records of results generated.In charge of the entry of laboratory data on the in house database.Maintain an inventory of lab consumables.Maintain and update lab documentation and SOPs.Qualifications, Skills and Experience:  The applicant should hold a bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory science.A minimum of two or more years’ experience in laboratory practice.Past experience in research is an added advantage.Should have completed some form of human participants training in research and /orGood clinical practice.All interested and suitably qualified candidates should submit a detailed CV, a TYPED covering letter explaining how and why you are suited to the role, and the contact details of three referees to; The Human Resource Manager, Global Health Uganda, P.O.
