The Mukwano
Group of Companies is the leading manufacturer of Fast Moving Consumer Goods
(FMCG) in the Great Lakes region, producing a wide range of market leader
brands in soaps, edible cooking oils and fats, detergents, beverages, personal
care products and plastics.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
·
Performing analyses of production, semi products and
raw materials.
·
Regularly reviewing and update quality control
procedures.
·
In charge of the planning, coordinating, and
directing quality control programs designed to ensure continuous production of
products consistent with established standards.
·
In charge of developing and analyzing statistical
data and product specifications to determine present standards and establish
proposed quality and reliability expectancy of finished product.
·
Works closely with the Quality Control Manager to formulate and maintain quality control objectives and coordinate objectives
with production procedures to maximize product reliability and minimize costs.
·
In charge of administering of laboratories including
preparing requisitions for reagents; preparing relevant reports and technical
guidance to laboratory staff.
·
Managing the sampling of products and semi products.
·
Preparing quality control reports and record
keeping.
·
Adhering to the health and safety and QMS guidelines
at all times.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
·
The applicant should hold a Bachelor’s degree of
Science in Industrial Chemistry or any other related discipline.
·
At least four years’ experience in Quality Control
lab in a manufacturing set up in a related business.
·
Past experience in determination of Protein, Crude
Fiber, Sand Silica, Oil Content, Moisture etc.
·
Previous experience in operating and handling of
instruments such as Spectrophotometer, Ph Meter, Karl_fischer, Auto Analyzer, Visco
meter etc. is desirable
·
Working knowledge of various laws, regulations,
guidelines, procedures affecting a manufacturing organization.
·
Working knowledge of ISO Standards is desirable
·
Positive attitude, self-driven, flexible, results
focused, effective communication, professionalism, creative, innovative, work
for long hours and work under pressure with minimum supervision.
·
S/He should have effective report writing,
communication and good customer care skills
