The Mukwano
Group of Companies is the leading manufacturer of Fast Moving Consumer Goods
(FMCG) in the Great Lakes region, producing a wide range of market leader
brands in soaps, edible cooking oils and fats, detergents, beverages, personal
care products and plastics.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Manage and oversee the overall responsibility of
production shifts
·
Manage and offer technical guidance and support to
subordinates in the manufacturing department
·
Manage preventive maintenance and report any
malfunctions of the machines to the productions Officer.
·
Assign work to subordinates
·
Work closely with the productions officer assist in
the appraisal and performance of subordinates
·
Prepare daily shift production reports and
participate in making production plans
·
Actively participate in routine stock taking
exercises in the plant.
·
Monitor movement of finished products from the production
plant to the warehouse.
·
Maintains quality service by reviewing and enforcing
organizational standard operating procedures and ISO standards.
·
Maintains safe and clean work environment by
educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment,
and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
·
Mentor, train and develop successors / subordinates.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
·
The applicant should preferably hold an ordinary
diploma in mechanical engineering or diploma in industrial chemistry, food
science and technology or any other qualification in a related field.
·
At least two years’ experience in edible oil
production in the same position in a manufacturing set up.
·
Excellent communication skills for both oral and
written, good numerical ability, positive attitude, a team player, flexible, results
focused, takes initiative and is creative.
·
Possess the ability to adjust to changing technology
and ability to perform to expected standards.
·
Good mechanical ability, physical strength and
stamina and the ability to work in high places
