dedicated to working with children, families and communities to overcome
poverty and injustice. We currently work in over 41 districts in Uganda. World

Job Summary: The Program Accountant will support the World
Vision Program in the provision of overall technical support to the
program/cluster in accordance with World Vision accounting policies and
procedures and the Acceptable International Financial Accounting standards and
liaise with the Regional Finance officer on all financial matters relating to
the program/cluster.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Render support in decision-making and financial
sustainability of the Cluster through business partnership internally and
externally.
·
Ensure stewardship, accountability and transparency
at all levels in the cluster.
·
Strengthen cluster and community/partners financial
management capacity
·
Actively monitor budget and cash-flow management by
ensuring expenditures are within the budget limits, identify and provide
variances explanations for management decision making
·
Regularly review and consolidate the Cluster
Budget/Log frame Budgets and share with the Regional Finance Officer for
further action
·
Raise, receive and review voucher interface files
from the program/cluster for completeness/accuracy of data, account codes and
provide feedback to the relevant stakeholders per month.
·
Receive and review Sun systems generated and other
financial reports for the program/ cluster and share/discuss the reports with
the cluster teams and final reports are filed.
·
Manage the bank account functions for the program/
cluster and ensure timely and accurate bank reconciliations
·
Receive and compile funding requests and share with
the Regional Finance Officer per month
·
Participate on the Procurement Committee as
Secretary and provide technical advice to the members.
·
Provide technical financial support and hands on to
program/ cluster Assistant Accountants and Program staff within the cluster.
·
Asset management in accordance with WV Finance
Manual
·
Labor distribution reports management; ensure all
program/ cluster staff Labor distribution reports are properly filled and input
in the LDR system and hard copies filed
·
Train and upgrade skills and knowledge of the
program/ cluster staff and partners on accounting policies and procedures
·
Carry out routine field visits to ascertain value
for money and items reaching intended beneficiaries.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
·
The
Program Accountant should hold a university degree, with a major in
Accounting/Finance/Auditing and or a full professional qualification in
A.C.C.A, CPA, CA, CIA or CMA or equivalent.
·
At
least three years post qualification experience.
·
Computer
literacy skills i.e. working knowledge in Microsoft Excel, Vision Excel, Word,
PowerPoint, SUN Accounting and Access is required.
·
Proven
knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Internal Control
Procedures.
·
Possess
excellent written and Oral Communication skills
·
The incumbent
must be a team builder, who is able to work successfully in a multicultural
environment.
·
A
high level of integrity is required
