Key Duties and Responsibilities:  


·        
Defining technical solutions based upon the Customer

requirement.


·        
Assessing server, storage and infrastructure sizing

including capacity and performance.


·        
In charge of problem & root cause identification

of critical and reoccurring issues.


·        
Best practice implementation in domain.


·        
Defining data center hardware configurations to meet

application requirements including servers, storage, data center networks, and

load balancing and clustering services based upon according to architecture

standards.


·        
Regularly reviewing and evaluating current provided

services, including monitoring, for service improvements. This activity will

include updating event thresholds and turning event and incident correlation.


·        
Offer technical oversight and support teams by

leading high level/impact incidents to drive to conclusion and add to root

cause analysis. Also may be responsible for the development of resolutions for

systemic issues.


·        
Establishing and maintaining a relationship with the

client’s GM & CIO and technical leadership to understand the client’s

technology landscape, business needs and direction.


·        
Working closely with IT teams to ensure application

requirements are understood and translated to technical solutions. Technical

solutions should consider the operational support requirements to ensure they

meet operational standards.


·        
Implementing CPU and PSU patches


·        
Managing users with profile management.


·        
Generating AWR reports per requirement and to

optimize performance.


·        
Auditing and tracing session for performance review


·        
Cloning database for development users


·        
Troubleshoot and create database links as and when

required


·        
Tuning various application Sql statements using

various hints or indexes in the environment.


·        
Rebuilding and recompiling Invalid database objects

whenever necessary.


·        
Exporting database using data pump and normal exp

when required.


·        
Using flat file loader utility sqlldr to load large

text data in database tables.


·        
Creating automated scripts using shell script and

PL/SQL procedures to automate server and application checks.


·        
Performing end to end application trace to identify

any performance issue.


·        
Managing table spaces for users with quota


·        
Database optimization using stats updation etc.


·        
Writing shell scripts to automate routine jobs


·        
Changing character set per requirement of client.


·        
Interacting with Oracle / Microsoft support for

severity issues and technical support


·        
Performance tuning of instance and Sql queries


·        
Tuning various application Sql statements using

various hints or indexes in the environment.


·        
Rebuilding and recompiling Invalid database objects

whenever necessary.


·        
Exporting database using data pump and normal exp

when required.


·        
Handle and Optimize Export/Import of Data and load

data using SQL* loader


·        
Manage Users, Roles and User Profiles, change the

Database User Schema 


·        
Debugging and troubleshooting the SQL errors using

Sql text, Sql Monitor and Toad.


·        
Creating and managing table spaces for availability

of databases 


·        
Performing daily administrative and performance

tuning tasks like monitoring the Diagnostic files, Background Trace files and

Users Trace files.


·        
Hardware sizing – Capacity planning for the DB &

OS Parameters like CPU, Memory & Disk, redo log, archive logs for new

project requirement.


·        
Ticket closure within SLA


Qualifications, Skills and Experience:  


·        
At least four years’ experience as Database

Administrator.


·        
Prior experience with integration of heterogeneous

technology environments as well as maintaining operational management across

coexistent multiple generations of technology in an enterprise data center

environment


·        
Ability to set direction and lead technical staff to

design and deliver Service Improvement projects.


·        
Excellent written and oral communication skills to

interface with Sr. Managers at client side


·        
Detailed working knowledge and understanding of

Architectural & Implementation support 


·        
Architectural, Implementation and operational

knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, MySql database


·        
Migration experience of large databases from cross

platform.


·        
Having knowledge of UNIX/ Linux/ Solaris


·        
Skills in enabling audits


·        
Skills in installation of Oracle databases and

client on Unix/Windows servers.
