brands in soaps, edible cooking oils and fats, detergents, beverages, personal

care products and plastics.


Job Summary:  The Agronomist will be in charge of developing,

executing and coordinating all the process and procedures to enhance crop

production and soil management so as to achieve the Group’s strategy, growth

and profit objectives.


Key Duties and Responsibilities: 


·        
Regular review and update all the policies and

procedures on crop and soil management


·        
Communicate project and research results to

strategic partners accordingly.


·        
Responsible for recommending to farmers, the best

practices for soil conservation and plant growth.


·        
Investigating soil type responses to a management

technique thereby implementing it based on the results.


·        
Responsible for developing newer methods of soil

conservation.


·        
Experimenting for high yielding seeds, it’s disease

resistance, adaptation to soils and nutritional value.


·        
Investigating problem sources poor soil and water

and determine the effects.


·        
Studying soil characteristics and classifying it on

the basis of geographic location, properties landscape position.


·        
The incumbent will be developing improved techniques

for measurement, soil sampling devices, and similar technology.


·        
Conducting experiments to investigate how soil

develops, changes, and impacts the land-based ecosystems and surrounding living

habitat.


·        
Responsible for identifying contaminated or degraded

soils and to develop plans that improve their biological, chemical, and

physical properties


·        
Determining the staffing needs, appraising and

determining the training needs for direct reporting staff


·        
Study and improve on the process of growing farm

crops.


·        
Support farmers use their land more effectively and

suggest methods to increase yields.


·        
Conduct research on land and crops and give advisory

services to the company respectively


·        
Take part in managing environmental impact of

farming practices


Qualifications, Skills and

Experience: 


·        
The ideal candidate should hold a Bachelor’s Degree

in Agriculture or related qualifications in genetics, plant physiology,

biochemistry, soil fertility, entomology and other relevant disciplines as

desired. The candidate should have good project management skills


·        
At least three to four years’ working experience in

a related field.


·        
The candidate should have a positive attitude, be

self-driven, flexible, results focused, should have effective communication, professionalism,

creative, innovative, logical, numerical, skills, ability to work for long hours

and work under pressure with minimum supervision.


·        
Possess effective report writing, communication and

good customer care skills.
