Associate Communications Officer ( FULL TIME )

About this Job:

The Eastern African Sub Regional support Initiative for the Advancement of Women (EASSI) in partnership with Deutsche Stiftung Weltbevoelkerung (DSW) seek to recruit a dynamic and self-driven person to fill the position of Associate Communications Officer – for a four year regional project on Empowerment of Women and Girls (WOGE). He or She will report to the Regional Project Manager for the WOGE Project and will be based in Kampala.

The Roles and responsibilities for the position will be:
• Develop a visibility plan for the WOGE project which will include branding and marketing.
• Coordinating, organizing and ensuring that all information and communication that pertains to the WOGE Project is done in a timely manner.
• Produce the WOGE Newsletter and other publications;
• Contributing to the preparation of periodic reports for the Project
• Coordinating and managing the monitoring and evaluation of the WOGE Communication Programme;
• Coordinating relevant training for partners including participatory communications for development and social change;
• Manage media relations on behalf of the Project as well as create and maintain a WOGE Project partners mailing list;
• Take the lead in effective management of the WOGE database and website;
• Spearhead the use of latest social media such as twitter, facebook, youtube etc that are relevant in enhancing the visibility of the Project;

Requirement:

Required Qualifications
• Degree in Communications and or journalism with skills in information Management and mass communication
• Qualifications and experience in Information and Communication Technologies
• Proficiency in the use of ICTs particularly in working with databases, development and maintenance of websites and desktop publishing
• Skills in marketing
• At least three years experience in communication and ICT work.
