2 NGO Social work Careers - Project Field Assistants at Action for Community Development (ACODEV)


Organization: Action for Community Development (ACODEV) Funding Source: Save The Children International in UgandaAction for Community Development-ACODEV is an NGO that has for the last 10 years been operation in over 25 districts in Uganda promoting Human Rights. Reproductive and Child Health and HIV and AIDS Programs ACODEV Central Region Office. ACODEV’s Project Field Assistants will help bring transformation in community's health in Uganda. Under the Reproductive and Child Health-RCH Programme and with funding from Save The Children International in Uganda, ACODEV is implementing a Sexuality Education Project titled Keep It Real (KIR) project in Rubaga. Makindye. Nakawa, Kawempe and Central Divisions in Kampala Capital City Authority. The project will focus on Comprehensive Sexuality Education interventions with in and out of school young people working in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Sports.Job Summary: The Project Field Assistants will support the implementation of the Keep It Real project activities on Sexuality Education in the schools and out of school youth groups in divisions in Kampala in collaboration with other ACODEV Reproductive and Child Health Program Team.Key Duties and Responsibilities:  Assisting in developing, planning and implementing sexuality education activities in line with the project work plan.Steering the planning and implementation of project activities at school and out of school youth group level in collaboration with RCH Team and other stakeholdersTaking lead in preparation of weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports related to the project in close consultation with Reproductive and Child Health Program Team.Work closely with the Reproductive and Child Health Program Manager and Program Officer, assist in building the capacity of health care providers to implement accompanied health visits of young peopleTaking lead in organizing for and conducting field visits and meetings with in and out of school youth groups in collaboration with other ACODEV Reproductive and Child Health Program TeamTechnically support quality data collection, analyzing and dissemination for the Keep It Real Project in close collaboration with the M&E departmentEngage community and community leadership in promotion of sexuality education activities in collaboration with division health and education technical staff and other stakeholdersAssisting in adapting and promoting relevant training materials to support sexuality education field activities Assisting in conducting operations research, documentation and dissemination of new experiences and best practices for influencing policy and practice relevant to sexuality education Make sure that visibility of the development partner Save the Children International in Uganda and the project donor Save The Children NetherlandsAssist in managing relevant project resources and financial transactions required for field activities.Qualifications, Skills and Experience:  The applicant should possess a First degree in any of the following areas Social work and Social Administration, Education, Development Studies, Public HealthA minimum of two (2) years’ relevant work experience and ICT proficient.
