Organisation: ActionAid Uganda (AAU)Reports to: Finance and Administration Officer ActionAid is an International Development Agency working in over 50 countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean. ActionAid’s mission is to work with the poor and the ActionAid Uganda (AAU), a national development organization registered under the laws of Uganda and with a local Board seeks to recruit suitably qualified, self-driven, result-oriented individuals to fill the position above. Job Summary: The Driver will provide Transport Services, Administrative and Other Logistical Support to Staff and Stakeholders in line with the AAU Policies and ProceduresKey Duties and Responsibilities: Drive staff, visitors, partners and other stakeholders to and from various destinations as per AAIU policies and proceduresMaintaining vehicles, generators and motor cycles in clean and good mechanical conditions in line with AAIU policiesPick, deliver and account for all correspondences (mails, messages, parcels etc) in line with instructions and known office practiceOffer support to staff and other stakeholders in the field; photo up date and child message collection and deliveries as per their work plan and proceduresPlan and budget for the vehicle and provide other logistical support and prepare periodic accountabilitiesQualifications, Skills and Experience: The applicant should preferably hold an A-level certificate (UACE) or its equivalent, Training in; Defensive Driving, Basic computer skills;Training in Basic Financial and Logistics Management is an added advantage.At least three to five years’ driving experience with government/NGOS Good knowledge of Traffic rules and regulationsKnowledge of rural communitiesProblem Sensitivity: Ability to analyze issues and identify problemsExcellent communication skillsExcellent interpersonal skillsHigh level of integrity.Language Proficiency: Fluent in English, Luo and any other Local Language/sAll qualified and interested candidates should deliver their application letters, CVs and copies of Academic documents with details of at least three (3) referees one of which shall be from your most recent employer.
