Our prayer for every Heart, the will to make it so.” Job Summary: The UPLIFT Community Development Facilitator will actively facilitate and guide project activities in ways that meets World Vision Uganda standards, for improved and sustained quality of life of young people in urban areas. He/She will be responsible for the day to day planning, implementation and monitoring of project interventions through effective coordination, supervision and working with partners.Key Duties & Responsibilities:Technically support and guide partners in the implementation of project activities.Gather and analyze beneficiary and community perspectives in relation to project support areasActively participate in preparation of monthly, midterm and annual work plans and cash flows.Monitor the progress and achievements of the Project against the indicators of the log frame.Involve in Community engagement activities; project implementation and monitoring.Contribute to the establishment of mentorship youth groups in the operational areas.Guarantee that the project is implemented according to the LEAP guidelines and World Vision Uganda regulations.Prepare activity budgets as per budget allocation.Ensure proper and timely accountability of funds.Manage financial and asset resources used in line with policy guidelines.Periodically provide accurate and timely variances explanations on over and under expenditures.Actively participate in the Baseline, Mid-term and End-term evaluations of the projectEngage with partners to ensure that the selection criteria for direct beneficiaries is accorded to.Ensure application of standard monitoring and evaluation tools in project implementation. Organize learning forums involving local government, CSOs, FBOs, NGOs and other relevant technical personnel.Ensure partners have adequate skills for effective service delivery.Coordinate with partners and engage with relevant stakeholders and local authorities in building relationships and consensus on Youth related issues.Assess and conduct capacity building for effective service delivery.Support local government in enforcement of bye-laws.Organize dialogue sessions between partners, local government and Youth groupsEngage and support partners, local leadership and other relevant institutions to combat risky behaviours especially among the young people and incorporate them in their daily structures.3. Partnerships, networks and coalitions:Facilitate networking with local government institutions and other partners within Kampala in planning and implementation of programs.Identify and nurture local partnerships with grassroots civil society organizations, Religious institutions and Local councils.Organize and engage with media on risky health behavioursFacilitate growth of strong grassroots movements on specific advocacy issues.Represent World Vision at stakeholder meetings in the division and be a regular advocate of issues in the area of Health, Livelihoods, Education and Protection sectors.4. Monitoring, Documentation and Reporting:Review of monitoring reports from partners and submit consolidated report to line managementCompile and submit monthly work plans and reports in alignment with the project design.Documentation and sharing of most significant change stories.Monitor progress of programme/project interventions against plans within the Project.Organize review, reflection and learning forum for Youths, Partners, community, local organizations and government to share best practices and success stories.Monitor and document learnings on young people to young people Life skills mentoringEngage with partners to assess and address the existing child protection related issues in the community.Develop capacity building plan for duty bearers in the area of Child Protection and participation.Support advocacy campaigns to ensure policy implementationConduct dialogue with service providers, leaders and youths to lobby for implementation of the existing laws.Support Inter-sectoral, Inter agency networking and coordination in developing Child protection programs and services Qualifications, Skills and Experience: The applicant should possess a good University Degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Education or any relevant field of study.Post graduate qualification in development studies is an added advantageA minimum of three years’ experience working with communities Facilitating urban youth developmentPast experience of working with Young people and Partners especially in urban areas is highly desirableMust be highly reliable and independent with ability to work with minimal supervision.Excellent networking and advocacy skills.You Must be able to ride a motorcycle in Kampala with a clean and valid riders’ permitMature Christian, able to stand above denominational diversitiesAll suitably qualified candidates must send their applications with complete Curriculum Vitae, via email to: wvujobs@wvi.org.
