PROJECT MANAGER ( FULL TIME )

ChildFund Uganda seeks to recruit suitably qualified, self-driven and result-oriented candidates for the following positions;
PROJECT MANAGER – MASINDI AREA
The Project Manager will provide technical oversight in coordinating and implementing quality community care for children (CCC) programs proposal funded by Irish Aid. The programme will be implemented in the district of Kiryandongo in three sub counties Mutunda, Kiryandongo and Bweyale town council. It will be implemented in all 7 parishes and he \she will develop the technical capacity of staffs and affiliate partners in program implementation, management, monitoring /evaluation and.promotes networking with program stakeholders. The position reports to the ChildFund Area Manager Masindi.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Strengthening of technical and managerial capacities of supervisees in strategic planning and management of CCCP {planning, budgeting, M&E, programme management, basic sector knowledge (including ECD & VSL) etc), policy and advocacy through team meetings, feedback on reports, field visits and training session.
• Coordinate development of work plans and oversee timely and quality implementation of Community Care for Children programme plans, budgets and activities.
• Ensure implementation of industrial standards in CCCP interventions; gender mainstreaming, VSL, M 8 E and knowledge management and learning.
• Develop a strategy for building capacity of implementing stakeholders in gender mainstreaming, advocacy, knowledge management and learning around the programme.
• Plan implementation and monitor CCC advocacy programme, with support from programme staff and stakeholders.
• Responsible for the use of Irish Aid financial and material resources as per approved budgets, internal rutes and procedures within ChildFund and in accordance with the guidelines of Irish Aid.
• In collaboration with the Finance Department, supports CCCP staff to plan and track expenses against approved budgets and reviews financial reporting for approval prior to submission to donors and ensures timely financial reporting to donors.
• Ensure implementation of annual programme reviews, baseline survey, mid term and final evaluation
• Coordinate and liaise with counterpart in other CCCP countries, i.e. Uganda, Ethiopia and Mozambique
• Share quarterly and aryiual reports wrth counterparts in U/E/M
• Regularly review programme plans to ensure coordination with other country CCCP activities.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Masters in psychology, education, sociology, anthropology, project management or related field
• Minimum 5 years’ experience managing ECD related programme,
• Evidence of experience in advocacy work
• Skilled in gender mainstreaming within a multi-sectoral programme (ECD,
• microfinance, advocacy etc)
• Minimum of 3 years knowledge and experience in programme and grants management.
• Strong coaching, facilitation and conceptual skills.
• Excellent oral and written communications skills in English required
• Basic computer skills (word, excel and PowerPoint).
