Our mission is to help people living in extreme poverty achieve major improvements in their lives which last and spread without on-going support from Concern. Concern Worldwide Uganda is implementing the European Union funded Skills, Income and Livelihoods in Karamoja Programme (SILK). The objective of SILK is to contribute to poverty reduction through sustainable, equitable development in Moroto, Nakapiripirit and Napak districts in Karamoja.Job Summary: The Programme Manager will oversee the programme and partner activities; including the management of budgets, reports and provide M&E oversight. The incumbent will co-convene the Karamoja Vocational Skills Forum and will create linkages and opportunities with other vocational skills providers and the private sector. The jobholder will also be tasked with the formulation and provision of oversight to two research projects. Qualifications, Skills and Experience: The Programme Manager should have at least ten years’ experience in implementing a development programme, particularly in education and/or vocational skills. The candidate must also hold a Master’s Degree in a relevant discipline. Excellent in written and spoken English. Excellent knowledge on private sector business opportunities for youth. Prior exposure and experience in managing a team in a challenging environment, experience in coaching and mentoring colleagues, partners and participants and experience in working with local government.All suitably qualified and interested candidates should send their applications and detailed CV (max 4 pages) with a covering letter, copies of relevant certificates, with day time contacts, names and addresses of three (3) work related referees’.
