Organisation: Parliamentary Forum on Climate ChangeThe Parliamentary Forum on Climate Change was treated in late 2008 to respond to the pressing issues - environmental, social and economic - presented by rising global temperatures due to the phenomena known as Climate Change. The Forum recognizes the urgency and need for immediate action in responding to Climate Change in implementing and managing an equitable, comprehensive response to global warming. Key Duties and Responsibilities: Ensure effective coordination of the preparation, planning, fundraising and implementation of PFCC projects/programmes.Build and strengthen inter-agency coordination, working with relevant parliamentary committees.Establishing effective mechanisms for monitoring and evaluating PFCC programmes and follow up on key areas of application commitments in collaboration with PFCC Executive, parliamentary Committees and civil society.Ensure facilitation of knowledge building and management, focusing on achievement of PFCC results.Proactively organize dialogue meetings with key partners to articulate clear advocacy and communication interventions that are in line with PFCC goals and objectives.Explore and recommend strategies for partnerships, institutional linkages with line ministries, civil society groups, local governments, media, academia, etc.Identify strengths and weaknesses in programme implementation and providing innovative solutions on adjusting strategies and implementation.Draft and/or produce catchy information materials such as video reports, photo documentation, statements, policy briefs, newsletter production and represent PFCC on several other working groups on Climate Change and carry out tasks as appropriate on behalf of the Executive Committee.Serve as the Secretary to PFCC Executive Committee.Qualifications, Skills and Experience: The ideal candidate should preferably hold a good University degree in environmental management, social sciences or related fields;Possession of a Master’s degree in environment science and natural resources or any other related course is a requirement A postgraduate diploma in project planning and management would be an added advantageA minimum of four or more years’ experience working in the field of international development and environmental governance, or research at a professional level (required)Self-motivated and availability to work under the pressure;Team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others;Excellent communication skills;All interested candidates should send their applications, CV and academic certificates to Parliamentary Forum on Climate Change Office, Baumann House- Rm P-05 Parliament Avenue.
