Role ? Prepare daily trial balance, monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with statutory, International Financial Reporting Standards and internal procedures.

JOBTITLE: FINANCIAL CONTROLLER
REPORTS TO: CHIEF FINANCE OFFICER

MAIN DUTIES:
The jobholder is responsible for preparing financial statements and ensuring that all matters relating to financial accounting, taxation, general ledger and regulatory reporting are undertaken in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and other regulatory requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOB:
? Prepare daily trial balance, monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with statutory, International Financial Reporting Standards and internal procedures.
? Oversee the management of fixed assets and maintenance of the fixed asset register.
? Prepare the monthly Bank of Uganda reports.
? Oversee the preparation of all reconciliations.
? Ensure that payable ad receivable accounts are properly analyzed and obligations are settled promptly
? Compute all statutory deductions and ensures that returns and remittances are submitted to the statutory bodies in accordance with statutory requirements.
? Ensure that adequate financial information systems that satisfy the reporting needs of the Fund are in place.
? lmprove the understanding of financial management issues by Staff,' Business Units/Branch Managers, and other Managers within the Fund.
? Ensure that adequate accounting records are maintained. .
? Coordinates annual external audit exercise.
? Supervises staff in the section.
? Deputizes the Chief Finance Officer.

QUALIFICATIONS:
A finance related degree and professional accounting qualification such as CPA, ACCA, CIMA.

EXPERIENCE Applicants should have:
At least 5 years working experience a large financial institution. 3 years should be in a senior position.

REMUNERATION:
This is a senior position and an attractive remuneration package commensurate with the position will be offered to the successful candidate.
