Role Provide technical assistance in developing the capacity of group leaders and extension staff, by using farmer-centred extension approaches

Job Summary: Provide technical assistance in developing the capacity of group leaders and extension staff, by using farmer-centred extension approaches; Implement a group development plan to enhance competence in group processes, leadership and organizational skills; Train and support extension staff and farmer leaders in sustainable agricultural approaches; To ensure Passing on the Gift (POG) mechanism is planned and carried out on schedule and to monitor pass on offspring to make sure they are well managed and tagged; Ensure the project have access to breeding services by assisting extension staff with regular supply of quality semen and liquid nitrogen; Ensure HIV/ AIDs awareness is carried out in all the project areas; Publicize and encourage livestock to protect the environment by promoting environmentally friendly methodologies
Minimum Requirements:- A Bachelors Degree in Veterinary/ Animal production,/Agriculture (animal option) from a recognized institution with at least three years practical experience in project planning and management, Experience in developing successful, CBOs and community training; A strong aptitude for organizational change, participatory and team building. Knowledge of local language (s) is an added advantage but not mandatory. Basic computer literacy is a Must
