Supplier Quality Improvement Engineer
Due to growth plans, a new role a SQI Engineer has been created to add to the team, reporting into the Supplier Quality Improvement Manager
In this role you are responsible to develop new and existing suppliers to enable them to satisfy Quality requirements. You will use established Sourcing Selection, APQP, PPAP and Problem Solving tools to ensure repeatable parts of the required standard
* Ensure new suppliers are aware of company Standards and expectations
* Develop new suppliers to enable them to satisfy company Quality requirements
* Link with all the Engine plants that use the parts and Engine Business Product groups around the world
* Once a using plant has identified an issue with a part, lead the Problem Solving activity to ensure Root Cause is established and corrected/prevented from re-occurrence
* Instigate proactive actions to enable a supplier to improve their Quality performance
* Champion for the company Supplier Quality Improvement Process รฏ¿½ as defined in the Supplier Handbook
* Provide guidance and or training on Company Standards, Quality Tools and Problem Solving as necessary รฏ¿½ Recognise Suppliers that perform better than expectations รฏ¿½ Minimise Managed Expense by travelling only when necessary at the lowest cost option
* Experience in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, preferably Automotive component suppliers
* Project management
* Computer literate (e.g. E-Mail, Internet and Microsoft packages รฏ¿½ Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
* Knowledge of Quality Tools (e.g. APQP, PPAP, MSA, SPC, Cpk, FMEA, PCC)
* Experience of component manufacturing techniques including forging, casting and machining processes.
* Command of any other language next to English is a bonus
