The People & Culture (P&C) Director World Vision Uganda will provide strategic leadership, Human Resource (HR) and Organizational Development (OD) technical support to the National Office as well as oversight in all aspects of People and Culture (P&C) across the organization with aims of optimising the organizational performance and sustaining the desired culture. The position provides support, to the National Director, and the entire Senior Leadership Team in aligning employees to the organisational strategies, goals and priorities as well as World Vision’s vision, mission and values.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Oversee organisational design guidelines and alignment of organizational structure to the strategy.Lead, plan and co-implement initiatives towards the realisation of the organizational vision, mission and three-year strategic and annual operating plan.Provide technical expertise on business strategies, human resources processes (including but not limited to Recruitment, Employment, Benefits/Medical, Compensation, Orientation, Staff and Leadership Development), and organizational policies and practices.Provide oversight geared towards compliance to the organisation’s talent acquisition and legal/industrial standards and ensures that National Office roles are filled with appropriate candidates, whilst maintaining organisation’s standards, processes, policies.Contextualises and monitors implementation of the compensation programs and strategies in consultation with management.

REQUIRED SKILLS INCLUDE:

Bachelor’s Degree and Post Graduate qualification in Human Resource Management, Organisational Development, Social Sciences and related disciplines.Master’s Degree in Management, organizational Psychology, Human Resource management and related discipline is desirable.Extensive experience in Human Resource Management at Senior Executive Management level for a minimum of 5 years.Experience in managing large organisational change initiatives will be an advantage.Knowledge of organizational policies, labour law and legal requirements.Good skills in conflict resolution/problem solving, teamwork, crisis management, training facilitation Influencing, collaborative relationship and coaching.Cross-cultural sensitivity, flexible worldview and emotional maturity.Ability to exhibit exemplary lifestyle as interpreted in specific local cultural context.
