UGACOF is one of the largest coffee processors and exporters in Uganda and East Africa with a capacity reaching 45,000 metric tonnes of coffee annually. UGACOF has extensive knowledge of the internal and export markets and a worldwide network of buyers for Robusta and Arabica coffee.Job Summary: The Business / Functional Analyst will understand and regularly review business processes and the current Management Information System implementation, propose improvements and changes and manage implementation in the system, train and support users. The incumbent will be charged with carrying out functional Analysis of the IT System needs for UGACOF and its East African sister companies covering end to end processes from Washing Stations to delivery to end customer as requested by the Group CTIO and accompany the successful delivery of the IT solution, i.e. Analyze the needs, Specify the requirements, Test of the implementation, Train on the Tool, Prepare User Manuals, Follow up with the teams on progress and related.Key Duties and Responsibilities: Understand, analyze, review, document and automate the business processes and the management reporting needs and manage requirements to the project level.Determine operational objectives by studying business functions; gathering information; evaluating output requirements and formats.In charge of improving systems by studying current practices and designing modificationsOversee the implementations from analysis to deployment and supportOffer technical solutions to address business problemsRecommend controls by identifying problems and writing improved proceduresActively monitor project progress by tracking activity; resolving problems; publishing progress reports Mentor, coach, train and support the end users whilst troubleshooting software issuesProven operational support for applicationsOn time and on budget Project Management for application initiatives
Develop and maintain project management plans.Work within agreed Project standards.Manage tasks and be responsible for reporting through project structures.Duties are carried out in a professional manner to a high standard with due care and attention to detail. Response time to resolve technical issues.Suitability of design and quality of delivery and support to the user and management satisfactionQualifications, Skills and Experience: The ideal candidate should preferably hold a Master’s or a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or Computer Science or related field. Possession of a Post graduate qualification in a relevant discipline is an advantage.At least three years or more of relevant working experience in IT in business and functional analysis in F&B industry preferably.Three to five years’ experience in Software design, planning and implementing IT solutions and strategies in a reputable organization.Personal Competences: Software Design, Software Documentation, Software Development Process, Software Requirements, Analyzing Information, Teamwork, Software Maintenance, Written Communication, Promoting Process Improvement.
