Duty Station: Fort Portal, UgandaSNV is an international not-for-profit development organisation founded in 1965. SNV has long-term, local presence in 38 countries across Asia, Africa and Latin America. SNV started working in Uganda in 1989. We work with 80 local service providers to reach 200,000 families in 108 districts. We focus on three sectors: Agriculture; Renewable Energy; and Water, Sanitation and Hygiene. We facilitate market-oriented services, evidence-based advocacy and promote knowledge development.Uganda has high rates of malnutrition, despite its economic growth. The Government of Uganda formulated the Uganda Nutrition Action Plan (2011 - 2016) as the overarching policy framework to guide multi-sectorial nutrition interventions in the country. Within this framework, SNV Netherlands Development Organisation (SNV), KIT - the Royal Tropical Institute and the Centre for Development of Wageningen UR (CDI) have developed an innovative Sustainable Nutrition for All (SN4A) project to be implemented in Uganda and Zambia. The goal of the project is to improve nutrition through adoption of agro-biodiversity and improve dietary diversity at the household level.Key Duties and Responsibilities: Technically support of district nutritional teams: support the DNT in capacity building and upscaling of activities.Induce behavioral change campaigns: lead the development of behavioral change communication methodologies that will be linked to district planning and implementation.Trigger demand and supply for nutritious food: build local capacity to produce and consume nutritious food.In charge of coordinating project activities with Scaling up Nutrition (SUN) initiative and other nutrition initiatives at national level.Documentation and sharing results and lessons learnt from the project.Qualifications, Skills and Experience: The candidate should hold a Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Master's degree in a relevant field will be an added advantage. . .At least three years’ experience in nutrition programs, with experience in behavioral change campaigns, gender, women empowerment and market-led approaches.Demonstrated knowledge on how to improve dietary diversity at intra-household level.Demonstrated success in implementing result oriented projects.Past experience in providing capacity development services.Interested to undertake extensive field work.Demonstrated creativity, willingness to innovate, think systemically and work independently.Team player and relationship builder, ability to work with, a wide range of actors from different backgrounds (smallholder farmers, households, private sector companies, government, and NGOs).All candidates who desire to join SNV should send an application letter, updated Curriculum Vitae, names and contact details of two professional referees to: uganda@snvworld.org.Deadline: 5th January, 2015 by 17:00 Hours
