Country Fundraising Lead – Kampala – BRAC Uganda Microfinance Ltd

BRAC Uganda Microfinance Ltd is the largest microfinance operation in Uganda covering 110 districts through 136 networked branches targeting micro, small and medium entrepreneurs of Uganda. BRAC boasts of promoting financial inclusion by extending financial services to the un-served and underserved, now with over 160,000 borrowing clients, over 100Bn loan book with 99.3% recovery rate, operationally and financially self sustaining.


Job Summary: The Country Fundraising Lead will manage the development and management of fundraising functions as well as raise and manage funds for BRAC Uganda’s programmes. The incumbent will be responsible for developing procedures, tools and systems necessary for the implementation of the overall fundraising strategy to meet country goals; identify and secure new sustainable sources of funding and relationships with donors.


Key Duties and Responsibilities:
· Build and strengthen working relationships with BRAC International’s existing donors
· Searching for new funding opportunities/donors to sustain country strategies
· Oversee proposal development process in consultation with the relevant programme heads, the head office and BRAC International affiliates based on country context and donor requirements
· Develop systems for knowledge management and database building of relevant content and streamline current processes
· Effective partnership explore/build up with other organisation (NGO/INGO) for joint proposal development


Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
· The applicant should hold a Master’s degree in development studies or relevant field preferred
· Results-driven with demonstrated success in major fundraising campaigns
· Broad knowledge and understanding of public engagement strategies and innovations
· Demonstrated knowledge, understanding and commitment to poverty eradication, global justice, social change, and gender equality
· Energetic, entrepreneurial, proactive with excellent relationship and influencing skills
· Demonstrated excellence in communication and in working with diverse groups of people
· Proven ability to work in a flexible, changing environment and perform effectively under pressure
· Excellent report writing skills
· Excellent written and spoken English with additional language skills preferred
· Well networked in relevant stakeholder communities
