careful assessment of the community development needs, a feeling of Ugandans as

well as a trend in global development.


Job Summary: The Purchasing

Manager will be responsible for coordinating all company purchasing processes and

transactions


Key Duties and Responsibilities: 


·        
The incumbent will procure goods and services for

the company


·        
Develop policies, procedures and ways of improving

procurement processes, supply networks to reduce cost reduction& process

improvement


·        
Keenly analyze trends and market conditions for the

present and future pricing, availability, lead-time, and capacity of goods and

services.


·        
Interview, identify, and qualify potential new

vendors or suppliers in order to secure more cost-effective sources of products

and services


·        
The incumbent will manage procurement team staffing,

including recruitment, supervision, scheduling, development, evaluation, and

disciplinary actions.


·        
Oversee and supervise all the purchasing activities


·        
Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders

for supplies


·        
Regularly review payment claims/invoices and

business term details before processing of payments


·        
Manage business relationship with key suppliers


Qualifications, Skills and

Experience: 


·        
The applicant should hold a good bachelor’s degree

in procurement & supply management or BBA-procurement with a post graduate

qualification in a similar field


·        
Professional Purchasing qualification- CIPS will be

an added advantage


·        
At least six years’ work experience in a purchasing

or procurement capacity, with at least 3 years supervisory experience at a

senior management position


·        
Working knowledge of purchasing regulations, laws

and Procedures


·        
Broad knowledge, familiarity and technical

competence with purchase management software and/or automated procurement

systems


·        
Skills in Supplier market trends analysis and leverage

 


·        
Able to timely manage and give solutions to enable

the activities, projects and requirements of other departments and functions.


·        
General knowledge of the FMCG industry, accounting,

finance, marketing, and logistics.


·        
Excellent contract management skills are essential.


·        
Effective bartering and negotiation skills.


·        
Excellent organizational skills
