Job Summary: The SHEQ
Officer offers technical input in the Safety and Health management business
plan to drive the business strategic initiatives and objectives of Zero Harm.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
·
Stays abreast with the emerging trends and
developments In Safety und Health management
·
Actively engage with key stakeholders within risk function
such ai NEMA, Ministry of Labour among others.
·
Execute and maintain Safety and Health management
systems to ormuro adherence to standards and regulatory requirements.
·
Maintain an effective incident risk control
prevention programme
·
The incumbent will implement a culture of Zero Harm
among staff and external stakeholders especially during maintenance works.
·
Coordinate administrative tasks in the section of
audits, IncidorU investigations and safety and health culture surveys
·
Render support in the implementation of the Health
management plan by compiling the job based occupational health hazards and
coordinate health awareness programs
·
Regularly review and scan environment (relevant
material- SHEQ) to ascertain; New bills & legislation of impact to the business,
emerging risks, best practices.
·
Maintain zero significant findings within the risk
department
·
Confirm completeness of Safety and Health records
and ensure Business Information Portal updates of all HS information.
·
Take part in the planning for safety and health
business requirement across other departments
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
·
The applicant should hold a Bachelor’s degree in
Environmental health/industrial Hygiene, Safety Engineering.
·
Certificate in Safety, Health, Environmental or
Quality advantage
·
At least three years’ work experience in a similar
role in an industrial environment.
·
Computer literacy skills
·
Working knowledge of Plant safety and Safe working
Practice
·
Good report writing skills, supervisory skills,
presentation skills, good interpersonal and communication skills
·
Ability to work on own initiative as well as in a
team.
·
Demonstrated Power Plant Knowledge is an added
advantage
