National Infrastructure Expert – Kampala – Belgian Development Agency



About US:
Belgian Development Agency, BTC Uganda and Ministry of Education, Science Technology and Sports will implement together a support program to the implementation of the Skilling Uganda Strategy. The main aim is to raise standards and expand coverage of training, create employable skills and competencies relevant to the labour market instead of educational certificates.


Key Duties and Responsibilities:
· Responsible for the planning of the project activities related to construction and organising, coordinating and supervising its implementation;
· In charge of organising and coordinating MOESTS inputs in the project, especially with CMU and PDU;
· Responsible for monitoring consultants, contractors and suppliers during all phases of the construction process, including programme, design, tendering, execution and maintenance;
· Carrying out regular site inspections during rehabilitation/ construction works.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
· The National Infrastructure Expert should hold a good Master’s degree in civil or architectural engineering;
· A minimum of seven years’ experience in construction;
· Prior experience in school building projects;
· Prior experience in working with public tendering procedures;
· Independent professional and capable to work with limited supervision;
· Mature, good communicator and team- player;
· Fluent in English;
