Volunteer Grant Writer / Programme Developer – Fort Portal – Kyaninga Child Development Centre



About KCDC:
Kyaninga Child Development Centre (KCDC) was established to provide much needed high quality, specialised and affordable assessment, treatment, education and support to children with disabilities, and their families and carers, to enable them to lead more independent lives.


Job Summary: The Volunteer Grant Writer/Programme Developer will support raise funds and expand the current program scope across the western region of Uganda, in areas of health, rehabilitation and education. The position includes researching, compiling, writing and editing grant applications to foundations and other grant-making organisations, as well as developing templates to streamline the grant proposal processes in the future. The volunteer will need to be capable of initiating sustainable projects whilst at the same time sourcing appropriate funding. These projects should serve to compliment the current areas of work and, where possible, build upon them to increase the scope and breadth of the area of implementation.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
· Prior experience working for an NGO is desirable, but not mandatory
· Prior fundraising experience is also desired
· Excellent online research skills
· Excellent written and oral communication skills, able to communicate to a variety of audiences
· Ability to manage own workload and meet deadlines – highly organized
· Willingness to work with limited resources
· Hard working and dedicated
· The applicant must show empathy and high commitment to KCDC’s mission and organizational values


NB: Willing to commit to a minimum of 6 months full time
