Job Summary: The Youth
Skills & Entrepreneurship Adviser will provide support to the VSO Uganda
programme which has three active projects around youth Skills & Enterprise
development and employment. The programme aims to develop a future project
framework by completing a review of current projects. The Youth Skills and
Entrepreneurship adviser will be responsible for Review of the project design,
progress reports and other documents related to the 3 youth livelihood
projects, testing of the project outcomes and assumptions through interviews
with key stakeholders, research on key donor strategies related to youth
employability and entrepreneurship and collate market opportunities including
employment, apprenticeship etc.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
·
The ideal candidate should preferably hold a Degree
in welfare economics/youth development/a relevant area
·
Possess a research and analytical background,
particularly in the area of youth development.
·
Broad knowledge and understanding of dynamics
between skills, entrepreneurship and markets in an African context.
·
Good report writing skills
·
Good computer literacy skills
·
Significant experience in market and youth
employability research
·
Corporate executive with responsibilities related to
market development
