Department Description Consumer Experience Design (CXD) is an organization within Motorola’s Mobile Devices (MD) business unit employing a user-centered design approach in order to optimize business strategies, build our brand, ensure usability and develop rich experiences while defining nd optimizing the physical and digital experience of Motorola’s mobile devices.

Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations
User interface design of key features and applications. Planning, conceptualization, design and implementation of user interface designs. Provide support for senior staff to ensure connectivity and growth of user-centric application designs between products and across platforms.

This position requires the successful candidate to support the formation of a user-centric point of view in key application areas that relate to evolving consumer needs. Key areas include messaging, multimedia management, digital imaging, personalization and community-building. This position requires a deep understanding of user-centric design processes and research. and the formation of strategies and roadmaps that support world-class interaction design.

Specific Knowledge/Skills
* Bachelors Degree
* Experience with GUI and interaction design.
* Skilled in UI graphics using the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator).
* Experience with J2ME, Flash, SVG, Windows Mobile, BREW, Symbian, or Palm OS
* Experience with scripting languages such as Perl, Python, ActionScript, PHP, JSP; experience with CSS a plus
* Experience developing and documenting use cases, task flows, screen and interaction design.
* Familiarity with cognitive psychology and/or human interaction principles.
