Department Description Motorola Solutions Global Communications plans, develops and implements external, internal and industry-analyst communications at all levels. The group, headquartered in Schaumburg, Ill., is located throughout the world supporting Motorola Solutions, which offers and sells a diverse portfolio of mission-critical and secure communications as well as other products and services to enterprise and government customers at all levels. Global Communications also is responsible for financial communications, crisis and issues communications, speakers bureau and many other corporate relations programs.

Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations
The candidate will report to the vice president of global communications and will work closely with the director of national media relations and financial communications. He/she will have directly support all aspects of the corporation in Washington with specific emphasis on media relations, speech support and focusing on the external activities of global government affairs. Some internal communications support also will required. The successful candidate will be able to handle multiple communications projects on an ongoing basis and deliver strong results on all fronts as required. Some travel will be required both domestically and internationally.

Specific Knowledge/Skills
Bachelor's degree required/Master's degree preferred.
12+ years experience in a corporate communications organization specializing in media relations, speechwriting, internal communications and working with senior executives on all levels.
Strong background in government affairs, federal media, Washington media, federal procurement process.
Strong background in proactive media outreach as well as crisis/issues management.
Familiarity with industry analysts and consultants
Keen understanding of the technology sector, especially public safety and enterprise solutions.
Ability to work with different communications stakeholders at all levels, building trust and strong relationships.
Strong writing skills on highly complex subjects; ability to turn around communications material in a brief time period in a clear, concise and articulate manner.
Strong verbal skills to communicate with media, analysts and other groups.
