About Global Communications Department:
The Global Communications group sets strategy and works with employees throughout the world to execute an integrated marketing plan across all marketing channels and geographies to support marketing strategy and direction for specific VMware solutions. We work extensively with sales, product management and product marketing as well as outside agencies in order to execute integrated marketing campaigns and programs that include online, print, email, direct mail, webinars, seminars, tradeshows and executive marketing sessions.

The person in this role will:
• Learn how to write and edit compelling press releases
• Learn about press relations for software/products
• Learn about technology industry analyst relations
• Learn how to plan for a global user conference
• Learn how to work with media to produce positive articles for use in the field
• Measure and assess media coverage
• Assist in managing press release pipeline and calendar

Responsibilities:
• Draft press releases
• Coordinate with social media team on blogs, Facebook and Twitter updates
• Work with the analyst relations team to review analyst reports to pull relevant content for presentations and press releases
• Assist in planning and preparation for media and analyst activities at major VMware events (VMworld, VMware Partner Exchange)
• Create coverage reports, learning to analyze tone and messaging according to set metrics

Requirements:
• BA/BS candidates from a leading educational institution
• Strong communication, writing and editing skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Able to multitask and quickly respond to requests
• Proven ability to excel in a fast-pa
