Accounts Assistant
Role
The accounts assistant is responsible for processing and reconciling a variety of accounting documents including invoices, bills, reimbursements, receipts, vendor statements and journal vouchers; review and process financial information; prepare documents and reports; make deposits and payments; maintain records; and review information for accuracy.
Responsibilities
1. Process payments and documents
2. Calculate rates paid for purchases
3. Verify items billed against items ordered
4. Reviews and codes data
5. Creates and files reports and records
6. Verify and process employee expense claims
7. Reconcile transactions and financial data to an automated accounting system
8. Enter and update accounting data from accounting systems
9. Performs work as assigned
10. Advance the missions of Walimu and the IMAI-IMCI Alliance, a Walimu partner
Requirements
> Experience in accounting or accounts management (1-3 years)
> Bachelor’s degree
> 18 years of age or older
> Fluent in spoken and written English
> Ability to work independently and meet deadlines; ability to manage projects and execute tasks; knowledge of finance and accounting; ability to communicate effectively; detail oriented
