We support the success and growth of our clients by providing lending, risk management, cash and liquidity management, trade finance, and asset and sales financing loans, financing, risk management, strategic advice and transactional payments support corporate clients to achieve growth and job creation in the real economy, governments to deliver their stability and growth plans, and institutions to meet the long-term investment needs of their clients.Job Summary: The Head of CRES will steer the Corporate Real Estate Services (CRES) function in Barclays Uganda providing Real Estate, Facilities Management, Capital Projects, Engineering and other services across the portfolio, and will be responsible for all components of property risk (excl Security), MI and compliance. Key Duties and Responsibilities:  Make budgetary recommendations and decisions for construction, refurbishment or leasing of premisesSelect and manage Consultants and Contractors to undertake Premises projects within given time frameDevelop and implement Service Level Agreements with clusters and branches are met.Manage and ensure that up-to date records are maintained of premises and equipment.Offer building/ support services to other branches/Head Office Departments and supervise within given time scalesEnsure that maintenance schedule for all Bank buildings leased and owned are implemented.Ensure that property evaluations and inspection of assets is done.Develop briefs for constructions/alterations and refurbishment works on bank's premises to enhance Bank's imageEnsure health and safety regulations are followed as stipulated by Law.Oversee and control individual premises projectsManage renovation costs within budgetDevelop and management of the Departmental budgets for premisesTake lead and ensure effective implementation of ongoing and new initiatives.Ensure that Bank assets are relocated  after closure of business at branches that are closedDevelop proposals for change for presentation to the Executive for agreement.Manage and achieve proposed changes to premises, furniture, fittings etc in order to meet present and future requirements within agreed timescalesDevelop and agree individual and team performance objectives, standards, and targets.Review individual performance.Identify training needs and develop training plans to satisfy those needs.Provide ongoing coaching and feedback. Qualifications, Skills and Experience:   The candidates should ideally hold qualifications in the following fields: Architecture, Land Economics, Quantity Surveying and Estate ManagementPossess detailed knowledge of the bank's set standards and policy covering premises i.e. details of fittings, measurements and general layouts of office accommodation as per Handbook/AFCAR policyGood working knowledge of Health and Safety regulations as stipulated in the Law.Excellent communication skillsGood negotiation skillsExcellent interpersonal skillsProject management skillsExcellent management skillsExcellent analytical skillsExhaustive knowledge and expertise in general building constructionIf you feel challenged by any of the above positions, and believe you can deliver on key deliverables as outlined above, upload your application letter, current curriculum vitae and photocopies of academic certificate to our recruitment website detail below:Barclays is an equal opportunity employer that recruits, develops and promotes people on merit, and rewards outstanding performance, regardless of background and gender.For queries contact us on 0417122453 or email: barclays.uganda@barclays.com
