COORDINATOR: Emergency Food Security and Vulnerable Livelihoods (EFS-VL) based in Adjumani with frequent travel to Arua and Kampala

Contract Period: 12 months (renewable)

Reporting to the Humanitarian Program Manager, the EFS-VL Technical Team Lead will oversee Oxfam’s EFS-VL programming under the South Sudanese Refugee response and projects implemented by partners in the West Nile Region, ensuring good quality programming. S/he will  have technical oversight and support national staff capacity development through training of field-based based staff in EFS-VL. S/he will also represent Oxfam at field and national level in various humanitarian fora including sector specific coordination meetings.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and/or participate in multi-agency EFS-LV needs assessments and support Oxfam and partner staff in designing and planning EFS-LV interventions in the operational areas. S/he lead on Programme implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation, ensure that consideration in WASH and Nutrition as well as Gender and Protection are integrated into EFS-VL programming. S/he will contribute to proposal development and review partnership proposals ensuring that all stages of the partnership grant process are followed..S/he will also support fundraising initiatives, monitoring of operational budgets and writing of interim and final donor reports.

To be a successful candidate for this role you must have a degree in Agriculture / Agric Economics or a related field from a recognized university and at least 4 years experience in management and participatory strategy development and food security projects. Should have experience in emergency programme response delivery and preparedness programming with a good knowledge of humanitarian standards and principles. Should have experience in capacity development of partners and partnership ways of working. Experience in representing an organization at the level of local administration and supporting local civil society organizations is a key requirement. You should have excellent written and verbal English to report, motivate, influence, and negotiate effectively with other stakeholders. Knowledge of local languages such as Lugbara, Madi, Arabic as well as Swahili is an advantage. More information and application procedure: Are you interested in this position?
