Reports to: Principal Accountant.Organization:DAIRY DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY (DDA)Primary Location:Kampala,UgandaJob Type : Full-time EmploymentClosing date: 13th June 2014 at 5.00 pm.Dairy Development Authority is a Semi-Autonomous Agency under the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries. Its mandate is to develop and regulate the dairy sector. It is established under the Dairy Industry Act, 1998 and its objectives are to provide proper coordination and efficient implementation of all Government policies which are designed to achieve and maintain self-sufficiency in the production of milk in Uganda by promoting production and competition in the dairy industry and monitoring the market for milk and dairy products.
In order to effectively fulfill the mandate, the Authority is seeking applications from qualified persons who are accomplished to take up the under-listed positions:Assist in the in monitoring of accounts payables and receivables, and recording financial transactions in conformity with DDA accounting and financial policies.1. Recording of financial transactions, cash payments, banking, inventory, receivables and payables.2. Processing payments on the IFMS and prepare books of Accounts of the Authority.3. Responsible for the proper coding and reconciliation of all individual client accounts.4. Identify and resolve all discrepancies identified in revenue reconciliations.5. Prompt preparation and dispatch of customer invoices and statements.6. Monitoring, collecting and resolving accounts receivable aging items.7. Assist in the processing of daily cash receipts, as necessary.8. Prepare timely periodic financial reports.9. Any other duties assigned from time to time.1. Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce/Bachelors of Science in Accounting and Finance or Business Administration majoring in Accounting.2. At least two (2) years’ experience in Accounting or finance.3. Possession of at least level II of a professional qualification in ACCA, CPA or any other relevant professional qualification.4. Experience of working with accounting packages will be an added advantage5. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.6. Ability to cope with deadlines and multi-tasking7.
