Job Title:   Business Banker (6 Customer Service Vacancies)

Duty Station: Kampala, Arua, Gulu and Lira, Uganda


KCB Bank Uganda which is part

of KCB Group, East Africa’s largest commercial bank that was established in

1896. Over the years, the Bank has grown and spread its wings into Tanzania,

South Sudan, Uganda, Rwanda and Burundi completing the East African circuit in

the year 2012. Today, the Group has the largest branch network in the region

with over 238 branches, 950 ATMs and 8,000 agents offering banking services on

a 24/7 basis in East Africa. KCB Bank Uganda was established in the year 2007

and has grown to become one of Uganda’s top ten commercial banks. Currently KCB

Bank Uganda has 14 branches complemented with 16 ATMs spread on Kampala Road,

Commercial Plaza, Ben Kiwanuka, Luwum Street, Oasis Mall Sixth Street, Arua,

Elgon Masaba, Fort Portal, Gulu, Hoima, Lira, Mbarara and Jinja that offer

trade financing, corporate and retail banking services to customers.


Job Summary: The Business Bankers will offer cordial customer

service and help in developing and maintaining sound business relationships

with SME business holders whilst observing the policies, processes and

procedures of KCB Bank.


Key Duties and

Responsibilities: 

  • Steer

    SME business growth for branch and ensure proper segmentation of business

    banking customers.

  • In

    charge of customer retention through on boarding process, customer visits,

    relationship management and any other intervention.

  • Carry

    out needs analyses for business customers within their portfolio and match

    them with an appropriate business banking solution.

  • Routinely

    inform customers of their rights and obligations to the bank (e.g. Product

    pricing, facilities terms and conditions, transactional fees, etc.)

  • Drive

    sustainable profitability for the portfolio as per set sales budget.

  • Timely

    and accurate loan origination for all customer applications within ones

    portfolio.

  • Explain

    credit loan facility options and qualifying criteria to customers; and support

    customers in the completion of credit application information

    requirements.

  • In

    charge of regular engagement with credit department for processing of ail

    loan applications within agreed timelines while resolving ail bottlenecks.

  • Notify

    customers regarding the approval/decline of credit loan facilities, keep

    customers informed throughout the process and advise the customer of alternative

    options in case of a decline.

  • Analyze

    existing customer data to identify expansion and/or additional business

    opportunities using available MIS.

  • Manage

    credit and operational risk in account opening and loan processing.

  • Adhere

    to the KYC policies and guidelines for both account opening and loan

    origination documents.

    Accountable for all facilities originated in the portfolio.

  • Manage

    loan portfolio by monitoring/managing Non Performing Loans (NPLs) and

    recover bank funds.


Qualifications, Skills and

Experience: 

  • The

    ideal candidates for the six Business Banker jobs should at least hold a Bachelor’s

    degree.

  • A

    minimum of four years’ experience in business banking.

  • Detailed

    working knowledge of account opening and documentation process.

  • Credit

    knowledge including an understanding of securities, financial statements

    and application scoring system.

  • Possession

    of fine underwriting skills and good understanding of credit application

    processes,

  • Personal Competencies: Organized, proactive, Innovative,

    reliable, empathetic, persuasive, good team player, decisive, result

    oriented, energetic, possessing integrity, culturally sensitive
