Dfcu bank is a fast growing

commercial bank offering a variety of innovative products and services. DFCU

Limited was started by the Commonwealth Development Corporation (CDC) of the

United Kingdom and the Government of Uganda through the Uganda Development

Corporation (UDC) under the name of Development Finance Company of Uganda

Limited. Later restructuring brought in DEG (of Germany) and International

Finance Corporation (IFC) as equal partners with CDC and UDC, each having a 25%

stake in the company. Its objective was to support long-term development

projects whose financing needs and risk did not appeal to the then existing

financial commercial lending institutions.


Job Summary: The IT Business Analyst will support the Bank

through the conversion of processes and business requirements into functional

specifications used for implementation and guide the team in charge of

implementation.


Key Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Identify,

    assess, and document business requirements, recommending business

    priorities, and advising business on options, risks, and costs.

  • Carry

    out research to determine if solutions to business requirements currently

    exist within or outside the business unit, and if not, whether new

    solutions are feasible.

  • Routinely

    analyse impact of proposed solution across the business, develop use

    cases, functional specification and source to target mappings to

    explain/demonstrate business requirements/specifications to IT team, and

    contribute a business or process perspective during design reviews.

  • Support

    the Testing Team by ensuring requirements documentation can be easily

    translated into test plans, and ensure that the proper testing plans have

    been completed – this will, at times, include creating the test plans for

    the project.

  • Actively

    facilitate implementation of new functionality through training sessions,

    demos, and the development of appropriate documentation.

  • Provide

    and/or create relevant test scenarios for the testing team. Work with test

    team to develop system integration test scripts and execute testing – all

    to ensure the testing results correspond to the business expectations.

  • Support

    teams to ensure requirements are translated to test plans and implement

    new functionalities by running training sessions, demos and documentation

    development.

  • Actively

    participate in Incident Management, Root Cause Analysis and High Risk reviews.

  • Participate

    in Testing, Implementation Planning and Execution of complex applications.

  • Translate

    business requirements into IT application

  • Perform

    any other duties as assigned by the Lead Systems Architect.


Qualifications, Skills and

Experience:  

  • The

    ideal candidate should preferably hold a University degree in the fields

    of Information Technology, Business or Finance.

  • Possess

    the ability to perform information management assessments (review of

    needs, data quality, data security, etc.) and create detailed strategy and

    roadmaps surrounding data warehousing, integration, and/or analytics.

  • Detailed

    knowledge and understanding of database design and implementation

    techniques on MS SQL Server or Oracle required.

  • Excellent

    analytical, organizational and core project management skills and

    attention to detail.

  • Strong

    interpersonal, communication skills and ability to consistently work under

    pressure.

  • Strong

    sense of responsibility, commitment and drive to consistently lead high

    quality standards of work.

  • Excellent

    communication and writing skills in English
