The Forum for

African Women Educationalists – Uganda Chapter (FAWEU) was launched in February

1997 as part of a bigger network of 34 National Chapters across Africa with a

primary aim of addressing the gender disparities in education that were manifested

through low rates of access to education, retention, performance and completion

of girls starting from upper primary school through secondary up to higher

education levels. FAWE Uganda Chapter has received a three-year funding for a

new project that will address Violence against giris and women in and around

schools in the districts of Kasese, Bundibugyo, Ntoroko.


Job Summary:  The Field Officer will be responsible for carrying

out field activities in the districts of Kasese, Bundibugyo, and Ntoroko. The

Field Officer will work closely with the Coordinator-Western Region in the

implementation, planning, support supervision, and documentation of good

practices.


Key Duties and Responsibilities: 


·        
Actively participate in the planning, budgeting,

implementation, support supervision, and reporting processes.


·        
Offer technical support to the schools in the

preparation of work plans and budgets, and progress reports.


·        
Ensuring project quality delivery through providing

technical support to all stakeholders in and around schools in each of the

school communities.


·        
Work in liaison with the already existing government

structures and other relevant civil societies.


·        
Prepare and submit quality quarterly and annual

progressive reports.


·        
Maintain high level of transparency and

accountability of all


Qualifications, Skills and

Experience: 


·        
The ideal candidate should hold a Bachelors’ degree

in the relevant field preferably Social Work and Social Administration,

Development Studies, Education or any other related field.


·        
A minimum of two years’ experience working with an

NGO.


·        
Working knowledge of the local language would be an

added advantage


·        
Strong/good team player.


·        
Computer literacy skills in Ms Word, excel and power

point


·        
Excellent customer care skills.


·        
Highly reliable and dependable, and with ability to

work under pressure with minimal supervision.


·        
Dynamic, proactive, multitasking, and

result-oriented.


·        
Excellent report writing and presentation skills
