Administrator
The Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) is established as a
Statutory Body under the Uganda Registration Services Bureau Act Cap. 210, Laws of Uganda 2000 Edition. The Bureau is a
key player in commercial and civil registrations that facilitate private sector
development and vital statistics for national planning.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:
- Keeps track of received data and source
documents. - In charge of preparing and sorting source
documents, and identifies and interprets data to be entered. - Contacts preparers of source documents to
resolve questions, inconsistencies, or missing data. - Enters alphabetic, numeric, or symbolic
data from source documents into computer following format displayed on
screen, and enters necessary codes. - Confirms accuracy of data.
- Compares data entered with source
documents, or re-enters data in verification format on screen to detect
errors. - Regularly reviews and makes necessary
corrections to information entered. - Compiles, sorts, and verifies accuracy of
data to be entered. - Processes various forms.
- Renders support in establishing and
maintaining an effective and efficient records management system. - Compile and submit reports and responds to
inquiries regarding entered data as requested. - Contributes to a team effort and
accomplishes related results as required. - Maintains confidential information
- Perform any other job related duties as
assigned.
Key Performance Indicators:
- Computerized data index maintained.
- Quality assurance done.
- Searches conducted.
- Backup copies prepared.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
- The Data Entry Clerk should hold an Honors
Degree in Computer Science/ Information Technology. - A minimum of two years’ experience in a
busy and corporate environment or a combination of education, training,
and experience which provides the desired knowledge, skills, and abilities
necessary to perform the position’s essential duties and responsibilities. - Additional training in a professional IT
field is desirable and will be an added advantage. - Computer operation skills in database
maintenance - Excellent interpersonal communication
skills. - Working knowledge of assigned program
activities guidelines and processes - Possess the ability to operate various
work-processing software, spreadsheets, and database programs. - High level of confidentiality.
- Interact and maintain good working
relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds. - Communicate efficiently and effectively
both verbally and in writing. - Carry out multiple tasks and meet
deadlines. - Ability to follow instructions furnished
in verbal or written format. - Detail oriented.
