Future Options Consulting Ltd is an HR Consultancy company that seeks
to recruit for its valuable client in the Banking Industry, a leading
commercial bank in Africa offering a full range of innovative lending and
savings products.
Job Summary: The System Risk
Manager will:
- Ensure the Bank’s security, that is, the
ability to identify and adequately manage increasingly complex and
widespread technology-related risks; - Availability and performance of systems,
given the bank’s critical dependence on technology to initiate, record,
move and manage transactions; - Adherence and compliance with increasing
regulatory requirements for controls, such as the Central Bank risk
management guidelines on ICT.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:
- Carry out IT security assessment for new
IT business applications and IT infrastructure projects. - Render support in conducting IT forensics
(network & system) in cases of frauds, etc. - Support in the review, enhancement and
implementation of the Bank’s Business Continuity (with Compliance
function) and IT Disaster Recovery (ITDR) Plan quarterly. - Active participation in the Bank’s
Business Continuity Management (BCM) planning and testing. - Work closely with the Bank’s users (IT
customers) on performance issues and address with the IT team. - Regularly review and ensure effective
usage of IT Risk Management platforms. - Develop and implement an IT Risk
Management Strategy and Framework for the Bank , basing the IT Risk
Management Strategy on COBIT and/or RISK-IT. - Creation of relevant IT baselines for
every IT aspect, i.e. workstations, servers, databases, network devices,
etc. - Understand the regulations and compliance
issues that affect Uganda and East Africa. - Perform periodic review of IT Policies and
Procedures to improvise on them considering current trends in IT.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the Banking Job
should hold a Degree in Computer Science/Studies with bias in ICT Risk
Management from a recognised university - Additional qualification such as Certified
Information Systems Auditor (CISA) is preferable - Specialised training in ICT risk would be
an added advantage - A minimum of five or more years’ working
experience in IT risk management, IT audit or IT security management. - Past experience in Mobile Technology
platform will be an added advantage
