Altus Foods
(U) Limited is a Kampala based company that specializes in the production and
export of fresh fruits and vegetables from Uganda-East Africa. It works with a
country-wide network of farmers who form the company’s supply base of produce.
The company works closely with this network of farmers to ensure the use of
high-yielding seeds and modern agronomical practices.
Job
Summary: The Sales and Marketing Manager will be in charge of planning and
implementing the sales and marketing activities in order to meet company
targets for retention, growth and profitability, and to contribute, as a senior
management member, to the executive management of the company.
Key
Duties and Responsibilities:
·
Plan and implement marketing strategy, including
advertising and PR.
·
Plan and implement sales and customer retention
and development.
·
In charge of planning and overseeing the sales and
marketing resources according to agreed budgets.
·
Significantly contribute to formulation of policy
and strategy to enhance sales turn over.
·
Recruit, manage, train and motivate direct
reporting staff according to company procedures, policy and employment terms
·
Maintain administration and relevant reporting and
planning systems.
·
Manage relevant reporting of management and
financial information for the sales and marketing departments.
·
Select and manage external agencies.
·
Manage R&D and New Product Development and new
business development.
·
Maintain and develop corporate Image and
reputation, and protect and develop the company’s brands via suitable PR
activities and intellectual property management.
·
Plan and manage internal communications and
awareness of corporate direction, mission, aims and activities.
Qualifications,
Skills and Experience:
·
The ideal candidate should preferably hold a Bachelor’s
degree in Business Administration or Commerce specializing in Marketing or any
other Business related discipline
·
Be highly motivated
·
Possess excellent organizational skills and with
great attention to detail
·
Past experience and comfort for working in fast
paced environment.
·
Computer proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel,
PowerPoint, database management).
·
Professional and polished verbal and written
communication skills excellent telephone communication skills are essential.
·
A good understanding of the fruit and vegetable
export industry will be an added advantage.
