Ltd specializes in designing and construction of mini-hydro power projects. As

a Sri Lankan based renowned hydropower company, We believe in making a

around this belief. We are now well placed to deliver the same corporate values

in Uganda through our first Ugandan subsidiary Muvumbe Hydro (U) Limited. Vidullanka

are ready to develop 6.5 Mw Muvumbe small hydro power project in Maziba

Sub-country in Kabale District.


Job Summary: The Environmental and Social Expert will

actively engage in carrying out regular inspection on construction to ensure

that the work in line with the approved environment plan. The role focus on

guide and coordinate with contractor to follow appropriate environmental

parameters and IFC performance standards on Environment, manage environment

issues associated with the operations and take appropriate remedies to correct,

minimize the risk of environmental harm, facilitate the best environmental

management practices, identify existing and potential risk areas, comply with

monitoring and evaluation procedures and systems by preparing regular reports

to the management, working closely with the external environmental consultants

and the external environmental monitoring officials and represent the company

in environment monitoring visits and audits.


Qualifications, Skills and

Experience: 

  • The

    Environmental and Social Expert should hold a bachelor’s degree from a recognized

    university in the stream of environment management

  • At

    least three years’ experience and exposure to environment monitoring,

    environment audits, ESIA preparation and NEMA and IFC standards, knowledge

    on national environmental regulations must be an added advantage.
