Key activities in your role will include:
Constructing & developing creative ways to implement logistics activities in Uganda while reinforcing organizational & donor policies & procedures.
Developing an annual action plan which continuously explores & anticipates new logistics needs.
Collaborating with HQ & all bases to effectively manage a large fleet &international supply chain.
Working to improve the capacity of the logistics team, their understanding of the Ugandan context & contribute to discussions in other teams.
Implementing strategies to prevent fraud & corruption, as well as effectively manage mission security & unexpected crises.
Representing ACF externally, developing strong links with other NGO actors & local communities.

You’re a seasoned logistics professional
You have a Bachelor’s degree in Humanitarian Logistics, Fleet Management, Business, Supply Chain Management Engineering or a related field. Certifications in more than one discipline highly regarded.
You have at least 2 years’ international professional experience in a similar role, similarly sized missions. Experience working in complex humanitarian emergencies desirable.
You enjoy the challenge of juggling multiple activities
You are highly organized & pay attention to small details. You take pride in planning not just the best case scenario but also for multiple contingencies.
You are extremely capable sharing your technical knowledge, as well as the organization’s policies & procedures – both verbally & in writing. Your reports are timely, comprehensive & well-written.
You ensure your teams remain aware of changes in security conditions, challenges faced by the program implementers & any new contextual developments.
Your work style builds trust within your team
You have extensive experience communicating with staff from diverse cultures & professional backgrounds. You are comfortable calmly & diplomatically negotiating towards creative solutions in stressful situations.
You identify your team’s professional development needs & work with the HR department to plan relevant learning & development activities.
Your respect the diverse opinions & expertise found within your team & effectively delegate so that knowledge & experience is built from in key activities.
