This position is aimed at coordinating all the personnel actions for Peace Corps Uganda in accordance with Post-specific and United States Government policies. This employee works closely with local government, Ugandan staff, American staff, American Government officials, and American Peace Corps Volunteers. The individual facilitates the recruitment, orientation, and support of employees throughout their contractual period in addition to working closely with the DMO on a wide variety of tasks in a busy and diverse setting.
· Develop job announcements, review resumes, organize interview panels, and schedule interviews. Prepare Personal Service Contracts and assure these contracts are kept up to-date.· Organize and perform orientation and induction program of new hires. Coordinate all personnel departures.· Collaborate with staff to develop job descriptions. Coordinate new employee orientation, staff training, and staff performance reviews.· Work with staff to conduct Volunteer trainings, coordinate venues for staff meetings and conferences, and manage an accurate calendar of administrative team activities.· Maintain leave reports, time and attendance reports, and employee records such as health benefit forms.· Prepare payroll, payment vouchers, and payment invoices. Uses fiscal coding.· Liaison with Human Resource Management System( HRMS), Peace Corps Washington (PCW), United States Embassy, and local Uganda Government.· Maintain knowledge of contract regulations, personnel policies, benefits coverage, Ugandan Labor Law, and Embassy Local Compensation Plan and update manuals, handbooks, staff, and the DMO as necessary.· Work closely with the General Service Office (GSO) relating to new or renewal of property. Prepare the lease and all lease-related payments, obligations/de-obligations, and annual reports.· Be knowledgeable and supportive of Peace Corps Uganda safety and security policies and procedures.· Six years of progressively responsible experience in human resources/personnel management work which includes position classification, financial accountability, wage administration, and other personnel operations. Familiarity with U.S Government financial and contract management procedures is a plus.· Excellent computer skills including word processing and spreadsheet programs and excellent command of English.· Ability to work independently with little supervision, good organizational and time management skills, willingness to take the initiative, flexible, excellent teamwork skills, strong service attitude, personal integrity; strong cross-cultural skills, strong interpersonal skills, strong interest in Uganda's development.· Ability to work on a regular Monday through Friday schedule with evening and weekend hours when necessary.· This position requires strict adherence to ethical standards of confidentiality and Professional conduct.HOW TO APPLY FOR JOBS AT PEACE CORPSALL submission should be electronic.Please submit a Microsoft Word formatted letter of interest, resume, names and contacts information for three references to applications@ug.peacecorps.gov Clearly indicate the position applied for on the subject line of your cover email.
