Organisation: Food for the Hungry (FH/U) Food for the Hungry (FH/U) is a Christian international relief and development organization that has been working in Uganda since 1989. FH’s primary goal is to respond to development needs and complex humanitarian emergencies. In Uganda, FH is operational in the communities of Pader, Kitgum, Lamwo, Agago, Kole, Kween, Mbale, and Mukono Districts implementing programs in four main sectors of Education; Food Security and livelihoods; Health/Nutrition and Disaster Risk Reduction; with the Head office located it Kampala.Job Summary: The Logistics Coordinator will provide day to day management to the FH Uganda Logistics unit; provide oversight in policy formulation and training in ail functions of logistics, procurement, fleet management, warehousing, and safety and security. The successful candidate will ensure that all procurements are conducted in accordance with the organization’s procurement policies and donor regulations. He/she will liaise closely with the various Program Managers and Field Coordinators ensure proper systems in place and fully functional to facilitate smooth operations of programs within the organization.Key Duties and Responsibilities: Policies, Procedures and Trainings.Procurement management of the organisationResponsible for inventory and Stores management Management and PlanningTransport and Maintenance management Security managementQualifications, Skills and Experience: The ideal candidate must hold a relevant bachelor’s degree.At least five years’ extensive experience in logistics management and co-ordination preferably Within an NGO environment.Proven experience in Humanitarian or development work.Past experience in people management with skills and knowledge on coaching, mentoring and growing of people.Significant exposure and experience working in an environment irv which the security and political situation is volatile in a role which involved security management.Proven track record of effective management of resources and processes and in possession of high levels of integrity,Possess the ability to work well under pressure in response to changing needs and should be organized with ability to keep clear and concise records.Proficiency in spoken and written English is essential and knowledge on the local language is an advantage.Must be Ugandan by nationality.Vibrant personal relationship with Christ with a proper understanding of FH foundational principles, Vision, Mission, and ValuesMust possess a valid class B driving permit.
